Artist’s History: Tina Jones

-Drawing from the time I could hold an instrument, being pen, pencil or crayon or a
stick in the dirt. (that is, unless I was eating the crayons.)
-First Painting at five years old. “Jesus” Mother’s liquid foundation makeup on
paper plate done with makeup brush, frame made of aluminum foil crumpled
around the edges.
-First oil painting – High School ’83. Over mixed and made mud. Gotta have a sense
of humor!
- Began painting in acrylics in ’88. Animals and landscapes
-Sold twelve acrylic landscapes for $25.oo a piece from my lawn in a yard sale. ‘90
-Tutored three children in art over the summer of ‘91
- Began oil painting and portrait painting in 2000.
- First portrait sold for $450.00 in the year2000

Showings:

-First show- Dr. Baker’s office in Danville, Ky. 2000 – along with two other artists as
part of “The Gathering Artists” group in that area. No longer a member since I
moved to Georgia later in 2000.
- Became a member of the “Lexington Art League” 2004
-Second showing at the spring “member’s open”2004 at the Loudon House in
Lexington, Ky. Single charcoal sketch of my nephew displayed along with many
other artists.
- Third Showing at DMHMRSA in Frankfort, key 2004 ten pieces along with many
other artists. Pieces will be there at least until Nov. 1st 2004
- Fourth showing- At Loudon House “All Members Open” Juried show. Currently
displaying one nude piece on the second floor called “Hesitation”. Show will
continue until November 22nd, 2004. So now I’m a juried artist. I’m not sure what
that means, but I like the sound of it. Smiles.
- Fifth showing- At Loudon House “Faces” exhibit 2005. Five paintings were hung in
the member’s gallery.
- Sixth Showing- At Loudon House “All Members Open” June, 2006. “Self Portrait”
was in the member’s gallery.
-Seventh Showing- At Loudon House "All Members Open" June 2007
-Eighth Showing- At Blue Licks State Park, Kentucky August 2007
-Eigth Showing-At Loudon House "Recycled Matters" "September's Embers" 2007

Donated Paintings:
 “Tools for Recovery” donated to twelve step youth group in Lexington area 2000
“Miss Dot” Portrait of the cofounder Mrs. Dot Mooney,  Donated to Willingway
Hospital of Statesboro, Ga. 2002.
“ Serenity” painting. Owned by my husband, Dr.Greg Jones. The use of the image
was donated to Pikeville Hospital in
   Pikeville, Ky, for their brochures for the detox unit called “Fountain of Hope”  that
my husband opened in 2003.        
 “Friends” portrait of the cofounders of a twelve step program donated to a local
12 step campout summer of 2003
 “New Chewf” self portrait of the artist from an old photo, donated to DMHMR
Frankfort, Kentucky 2004
  “Angeltoes” donated to the Lexington Kentucky Red Cross “Disaster Blaster”
fundraiser. 2005
  
Paintings are privately owned in Kentucky, Illinois and Georgia.( 2005)
Update: As of June, 26, 2006, Paintings are privately owned throughout the United
States, and internationally, in Canada and Japan.
